Notes:

  • In spite of being on the road for over four hours to get to my mother’s house, I did manage to get my words in for the day just before midnight, her time. (She’s in the central time zone, I’m in Eastern.)
  • I wrote about magic and sports, today. I realized something. Another thing I’m accomplishing with this book is fleshing out my world with things that have absolutely nothing to do with my stories . . . but which will add a ton of verisimilitude because it’ll be in the background, even if I never explain how hockey works when players can make the puck go at supersonic speeds or hover in midair or make illusory players skate around on the ice . . . while the other team tries similar tactics and tries to keep their opponents from doing it. Fascinating stuff.
  • I didn’t look up anything, but it occurs to me that I really should have a better understanding of how the real sports work before I start Quiddichizing them for my universe. :) I’ve never been interested in sports, but now I find that I need to know how hockey works so I can “break” it. :)
