Notes:

  • Wrote about psions. One of my two main characters is a psion, and I’ve been sort of avoiding writing about them. I divided it into telekinetics, telepaths, telempaths, and psychometrists (with probably more to come), and added warding and shields, which may in fact be the same thing. I also wrote about psi-bursts, which are the first onset of ability that young psions experience, and which are often traumatic in nature. I have figured out in the past what my main character Nick’s mage-burst was, but Javier’s psi-burst is still a mystery to me. Maybe I’ll figure it out as I go.
  • Nothing much else, really. I have been just kind of randomly turning to a section and reading a bit, and thinking of something I wanted to add, and adding it. Not the most linear way to write, but this is essentially a big brainstorm session for me that I hope can continue for another 24,000 words or so.
  • The only interesting thing I looked up today was Elizabeth Báthory. She’s a fascinating person. In a macabre way, of course. I finished reading my Forensics for Dummies book that I was using as kind of a template for this one, and I feel like I learned a lot from it, both about forensics and about the structure of a Dummies book.
